About the Journal

Scope and coverage

The journal is addressed to all those scientists from Poland and the world who care about the authentic education of modern man, who want to reflect on those areas of life that affect the formation of a person in the optics of humanism with particular emphasis on the Christian dimension.

Horyzonty Wychowania is a scholarly journal published by the Faculty of Pedagogy at Ignatianum University in Cracow. Since its inception in 2002, the journal has consistently and successfully contributed to the academic community. Its primary mission is to reflect on human nature and present new research horizons on faith, educational challenges, and the pursuit of truth. The journal’s content spans both theoretical and empirical research, and offers a platform for the exchange of ideas on topics across the humanities, social sciences, and even natural sciences and technology, as long as they relate to human development and education.

Horyzonty Wychowania is intended for scholars in Poland and around the world who are committed to the authentic education of modern individuals. The journal invites reflections on aspects of life that shape personal development, particularly through the lens of humanism, with a special focus on Christian perspectives.

Horyzonty Wychowania is published on an Open Access basis, so its content can be freely accessed and utilized. Readers are required to respect the authors’ copyrights by adhering to standard citation and quotation practices, as with printed publications.

As of 2022, the journal is exclusively published online.

Horyzonty Wychowania is indexed in several international databases, including CEEOL, CEJSH, Index Copernicus, DOAJ, ERIH PLUS, and EZB. Articles published in the journal are also indexed by major research networks such as ResearchGate, Google Scholar, and in Polish resources like the Polona Digital National Library and the Academica Digital Lending Library of Scientific Publications.

The journal is archived in the repository of the National Library of Poland.

The quarterly is supported by funding from the Ministry of Education and Science under the “Development of Scientific Journals” program (Contract No. RCN/SN/0390/2021/1).
