Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
  • The Author consents to unpaid publication of his/her article in “Horizons of Education” in the language in which the above-mentioned publication was written, and in English or Polish if they were not the original languages, if the Editor finds it appropriate. The Editor has the right to abbreviate the texts and change the titles.
  • The Author consents to indexing his article in national and international data bases, especially to the inclusion of the Author’s article abstracts, key words and affiliations in Polish, English, and possibly in other languages, in those data bases. The Author consents to the transfer of the above-mentioned information to the owners of those data bases.
  • The Author agrees to publish the full electronic version of his/her article on the journal's website and in the domestic and foreign indexing data bases.
  • The Author declares that his/her publication is original, that it does not include any borrowings from another text that may result in the Editor’s liability, that it does not infringe any rights of third parties, and that the Author’s copyright to this publication is not limited. The Author will bear any costs and liabilities that may result from the possible untruthfulness of this declaration.
  • The Author discloses the contribution of individual authors to the creation of the publication, and that he/she bears responsibility for the provision of all the data related to the preparation of the material sent by the Author. Thus, the Author of the manuscript declares that his/her work does not include any elements of ghostwriting and guest authorship, such as failure to reveal the names of the authors who contributed to/participated in the creation of the publication (ghostwriting), or ascribing the authorship to the person who has not contributed to the creation of the publication (guest authorship).

For articles in English, the process is rigorously overseen by our language editor, Dr. Maria Szymańska. Translations into English are handled by the reputable translation agency Ludmiła Hilton.
