Bycie singlem – współczesna moda, konieczność, czy ucieczka?
Abstract
Artykuł stanowi próbę fragmentarycznego opisu zjawiska singli, czyli życia w pojedynkę z wyboru (singiel life) we współczesnej rzeczywistości.
The article attempts to give a fragmentary account of the phenomenon of singles, i.e. living alone by choice (single life), in contemporary reality. More than 5 million singles function in Poland and the scale of this phenomenon is growing. The community of singles does not constitute a homogenous social group for legal and economic reasons as well as various reasons to live beyond a steady relationship. The consequences of this phenomenon are examined not only in an individual perspective – of functioning and development of a particular person and their sense of happiness, but also in the context of long-term social effects connected with reducing the importance of the role of the marriage-family community and the demographic crisis as well as the economic, political and religious.
