Abstract
Czego może dowiedzieć się człowiek współczesny, studiującprzeszłość – o sobie, o swoich problemach? Czy informacje
utrwalone na pożółkłych kartach książek, czasopism pomogą mu zrozumieć, jak powinien żyć? Jak zdobyć dobrą pracę? Jak wychować dzieci? Czy wreszcie odpowiedzą mu, kim jest jako człowiek? Wielu młodym – i nie tylko im – wydaje się, że to, co już się wydarzyło, tak naprawdę nie ma wpływu na ich życie, zatem nie warto zajmować się przeszłością. I być może się mylą. Bowiem żyjemy w świecie, który – czy nam się to podoba czy nie – ukształtowali przodkowie każdego z nas. To, co dziś robimy, kim jesteśmy w jakiś sposób powiązane jest z tym, co zaczęli kiedyś „oni”. Wobec tego czy przeszłość ma znaczenie? Czy współczesnego człowieka historia w jakiś sposób dotyczy?....
