Abstract
„Jeśli zachwyt i przerażenie stanowią początek wszelkich
teorii, wtedy zło należy do ich najbardziej prawłaściwych przedmiotów.
Zachwycające i przerażające doświadczenia zła (Böse)
i nieszczęścia (Übel) stawia całą masę pytań dotyczących istoty
i bytowego charakteru czegoś złego (Schlechte), jego pochodzenia
i przezwyciężenia, jego stanowiska i celu w całości bytującego
oraz jego stosunku do podstawy bytującego. Co znaczy
w ogóle «być złym»? Skąd pochodzi coś złego i jak długo będzie
trwać? Czy jest ono zupełnie i ostatecznie złe, czy może być do
czegoś też dobre, do czego mogłoby ono być dobre? Jak ma się
sprawa zła przed Bogiem? Jeśli byłby On Bogiem dobrym i wystaraczająco
silnym byłby w stanie zapobiec złu? Dlaczego
faktyczność zła mówi przeciw egzystencji Boga?”
