Institutionalizing Family Research at Ignatianum University in Cracow

Abstract

RESEARCH OBJECTIVE: The goal is to present the process of institutionalizing family research at Ignatianum University in Cracow (UIK) and the factors influencing it.

THE RESEARCH PROBLEM AND METHODS: The research question is: How did the institutionalization of family research at Ignatianum University occur, and what were the determining factors? The study employs literature analysis and examination of foundational sources.

THE PROCESS OF ARGUMENTATION: The description covers UIK as a hub for scientific research on families, including the structures that support this work. It highlights the origins and role of the Department of Family Pedagogy and details the family research and related teaching activities conducted at UIK.

RESEARCH RESULTS: The findings reveal that family research has been integral to UIK for over 25 years and is part of its history and ongoing development in this field.

CONCLUSIONS, RECOMMENDATIONS AND APPLICABLE VALUE OF RESEARCH: Ignatianum University in Cracow shapes the conditions for scientific research, education, and collaboration in family studies, promoting partnerships with academic centers, stakeholders, and the local community.
