Care and upbringing are inseparable forms of activity of every human being, especially those who fulfill their vocation in life in the family. We usually talk about care in the parent - child, child - parent, guardian - ward, doctor - patient relationship. Care is often associated with upbringing understood - according to the definition presented by Wincenty Okoń - as "consciously organized social activity, based on the educational relationship between the educator and the pupil, the purpose of which is to cause the intended changes in the personality of the pupil".

Both forms of human activity - care and upbringing - require effort, sacrifice, time, energy, financial resources and other elements necessary for their proper course from the people involved. Favourable living conditions help in fulfilling these forms of human activity, although they do not free from the hardships inherent in their implementation. When an unplanned crisis situation occurs, the burden of caring of another person and raising children increases, and sometimes it may turn out to be a burden that is too difficult to bear for a specific person. The circumstances that may constitute crisis situations are circumstances that may affect individuals or entire communities, societies or even the entire world. For example crisis situations include armed conflicts, economic crises, unemployment, diseases, epidemics, and natural disasters.

How is the care of children, the elderly, the sick, the disabled, etc. carried out in times of individual, collective or global crisis?

How to carry out tasks related to upbringing children and youth in times of crisis?

How to reduce the impact of the crisis on the quality of care and upbringing?

How to help parents/ guardians / educators in times of individual, collective or global crisis?

We encourage all interested researchers representing various scientific fields to submit articles on the broadly understood issue of care and upbringing in times of crisis.
